Hi, my name is Travis Tooke, and I want to personally welcome you to visit our gym and see why we are the top choice for MMA Houston TX. I founded Team Tooke Martial Arts Academy in April 2005, starting out in my father’s 20x20 garage. At the time, I had just returned from a one-year stay in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where I was honored to receive my black belt from Carlos Gracie, Jr.
In those early days, I didn’t know much about running a martial arts school, but I was driven by a passion to teach Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, self-defense, and martial arts techniques to students of all ages. My goal was to create a supportive community where people could train in disciplines like mixed martial arts, Muay Thai, and grappling while also building confidence, discipline, and physical fitness.
Today, our academy operates out of a 9,000+ sq. ft. facility and is home to hundreds of dedicated students working hard to achieve their personal goals both on and off the mats. Whether you’re interested in improving your fitness, learning self-defense, or competing in martial arts tournaments, we have programs designed to help you succeed.

January 12, 2019 at 4:19 amWe’ve been members of Team Tooke for over 2 years. My son is 7 years old and has a blast at Team Tooke. His first coach, Cameron, is amazing with the children, and all around a very sweet and wonderful person. Coach JP is also one of my sons favorites, you really get the sense that they care about each each one of their students. They have fun and teach discipline at the same time. Whenever my son has had problems at school or at home one of the coaching staff is always there to step in and take him aside and talk to him. Professor Travis Tooke and his team are amazing!
